PlayStation Plus buy prompt

After doing a required system update on my PS4 and starting up the game it refuses to log me in online. Telling me I need to purchase a PlayStation plus membership even though my current membership is active through to the end of the year. 

I’ve attempted to log in multiple times, but each time I’m met with the “purchase PlayStation plus” pop up or the “play offline” option. 

It’s disappointing to see that there’s connection/play issues again with this game as it’s a favourite here :(

Generally if the PS4 is indicating that your account does not have PS Plus, this means that either you are currently signed into a different PSN account than you usually do, or there is an issue with your PSN account/PS Plus subscription. Please ensure that you are logging in using the PSN account that has an active PS Plus subscription, as well as check to see if your current subscription renewed correctly (or is currently active) - https://support.playstation.com/s/article/Managing-your-PlayStation-Plus-Subscription-on-PlayStation-4?language=en_US

Should the issue persist, your best bet is to contact PlayStation Support as they will be able to assist with PSN/PS Plus accounts and issues.
