Moonstorm overlay/hud concerns

Currently Moon/Sand storms go over the HUD and UI, inventory and crafting menu alike.
While this goes away when wearing protective headgear, this layering affect is proving to be really troublesome and nauseating for myself and some others...
Being caught in a storm without the required equipment and having the flashy visuals constantly glaring over your inventory gets very disorientating and leaves me with an ill feeling, hence this report. I'm hoping this can be changed OR a toggle for it in the options menu could be considered. Thank you!
