Missing dontstarve_steam.exe

last night a 34MB update auto-downloaded;when i tried to play Steam indicated it needed to validate files, and showed an error (corrupt content files). It says dontstarve_steam.exe is missing. Steam then gets stuck in a loop of Validate—Update—Validate—Update until I turn off the download. Should I just uninstall and try again or is this a knkown issue?

 

Windows 7 64-bit btw

Hi. This is not a known issue. I'd suggest rebooting your computer as a first attempt. If that doesn't resolve it then uninstall and try again.
