game does not open

When I try to open the game on steam, it says it's running, and in my task manager an instance of dontstarvetogether_steam_x64 is running, but there is no pop up window where I can play the game. I have tried checking files for integrity and reinstalling. Neither worked. Other games do open properly.

Steps to Reproduce

device: HP Zbook power

platform: steam

OS: windows

Go to bugs

I posted the question in the general discussion, and some wonderful person helped me out. You have to delete all the text files inside the dontstarvetogether folder. Nothing else, only the text in the main folder

This used to happen to me too. It usually has to do with the local client data. As said before try backing up and deleting the original setting file in Documents/Klei/DoNotStarveTogether
