FPS in the game drops to about 40-50, for a few seconds, about 1-2 times per game day

Hello! These FPS drops occur regardless of whether mods or caves are enabled. Also, this is not affected by the game mode: single or multiplayer. I can't say when exactly this problem appeared, but it didn't exist before. Thanks for the answer

I didn't do anything, I downloaded this game in Steam after a long break

You could try doing fresh install of NVIDIA drivers and see if the issue gets resolved. If not perhaps share task manager whilst in game
