farm plants not providing food or seeds

i suspect this has something to do with the player population so: the worlds this happens on are public, and others are encouraged to join, but usually im the only one on them.

eventually on these worlds i want to farm, but when i try, the plants drop absolutely nothing upon harvest. im doing everything right and this isnt listed as an outcome on the wiki so i can only assume its a glitch

Try turning them all off and try again. It most likely is one of the mods messing with the game.
