Crabby Hermit (sometimes) still skips checking tasks that are completed

The overall behaviour of this NPC feels much smoother and much more consistent now, however there are still instances where she will skip checking whether a task is completed or not.

I did the first two tasks while Crabby Hermit was in her home, planted 10 flowers, then dried some food on all of the drying racks. The Hermit then woke up, recognized the drying racks but failed to recognize the flowers.

Planting an 11th flower did trigger her to check the number of flowers on the island and recognize the tasks as completed, so I'm certain something caused her to skip the check on counting the number of flowers on the island. I'm not certain whether the issue was me doing the tasks too quickly, the Crabby Hermit not being able to watch me plant the flowers, or both happening at the same time.
