Crab King Bumpers not correctly protecting boats from ramming into land

I can't exactly say what caused this, but I think it was something to do with hitting a corner land piece right in the corner between 2 bumpers. Either way it's something I'd greatly appreciate being looked into, as now I feel unsafe when using crab king bumpers, when their whole purpose is to let you recklessly slam your boat into land masses.

Steps to Reproduce

If you ram this little intersection area into a corner land piece where the bumpers meet, then I think there's a chance that your boat will take damage and spring leaks as if it had no bumpers at all. As for what specifically happened to me, I hit a corner piece of land sailing towards lunar island, and a big leak sprung when I hit the land.
