User Feedback

Hey there,

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties with one of our games. We have a support document that should be able to help you fix most issues that won't normally allow you to play Don't Starve Together. Check it out here: https://support.klei.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029555352-Dont-Starve-Together-Troubleshooting-Guide

If you're playing with an AMD Radeon Graphics card, this support document might be able to help you out: https://support.klei.com/hc/en-us/articles/4411901338004-DST-is-Crashing-When-Playing-with-an-AMD-Radeon-Graphics-Card

We have an additional support document for troubleshooting here: https://support.klei.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029557312-I-upgraded-to-Windows-10-Windows-11-and-can-t-play

Please ensure that all of your system's drivers (graphics card, audio card, etc...) are up-to-date. Out of date drivers may cause instability with various software. More information here: https://www.howtogeek.com/135976/how-to-update-your-graphics-drivers-for-maximum-gaming-performance/

Please ensure that your Windows operating system has been updated to the latest version: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4027667/windows-10-update

If you have ever installed mods in the past, please ensure to delete the mod files from your Steam folder for Don't Starve Together. Once all mod files have been deleted from your Steam folder for Don't Starve together, unsubscribe all of your Don't Starve Together mods from the Steam Workshop. This will ensure that any mods that may have been causing issues or conflicts with the game are not re-installed to your computer. (Please note the screenshots provided have mods enabled)

If you have third-party graphics software such as ASUS Tweak, ASUS Tweak II, RIVATUNER or MSI Afterburner, etc... running in the background, try disabling these when running Don't Starve to see if that resolves the issue.

Also, please ensure that you are running the game in administrator mode:
Windows 10 - https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-check-if-your-windows-10-account-is-administrator/

Finally, verifying the integrity of game files might also help resolve your issue: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0C48-FCBD-DA71-93EB

Hopefully this helps, have a great day.
