Fish Scale-O-Matic Doesn't Take Eels

Known Issue

I wanted to put an Eel into the Fish Scale-O-Matic similar to the Pond Fish as a Trophy.

It wouldn't let me.

I'm guessing its intentional since its dead upon fishing? (That does make it the only fish that does this though now).

Is it possible to have a Live Eel that when killed, just drops the stackable Eel from before?

Steps to Reproduce
Try putting Eel into Fish Scale-O-Matic for bragging rights. Can't do it. Intentional?
