It doesn't start the fight and it's an odd bug I think. Perhaps better to be a way to cause the fight to start without needing thermals.
Steps to Reproduce
Place flingos just far enough from sand castle raising area, set a star by a lot of items that can smolder and near the antlion so that snowballs would hit him too,
