Special Attack/Ability Not Working

While in a run of the event, I attempted to use the Living Staff's ability. Instead of having a dotted circle when I used right click, the keybinding I had, it just didn't do anything. I was able to drop the weapon, meaning it still had an input.
Changing the keybinding for Special Attack didn't do anything. It wasn't character locked, since I went on Wilson, Willow, and Wendy to see if it was just some character glitch.
I don't have an image to display because this isn't really something that is visibly determinable.

EDIT- "NO RELEASE DEPLOYABLES" caused Special Attack to not work in The Forge.

Steps to Reproduce
The mod "NO RELEASE DEPLOYABLES" by pigshaam will counter Special Attack.

@FrostHazel do you happen to use the "No Release Deployables" mod? Enabling that during the Forge prevent the player to use any abilities with the weapons.

I do have that mod enabled. Thank you for mentioning it.
