Trying to place a W.A.R.B.O.T base on pearl's island in an older world and there's no indicator to where I can place it.

Play in an older world and try to place a W.A.R.B.O.T base, there are no places to plant it
A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
