Void and Brightshade set bonus don't apply on Armor + Weapon combination.

Ive heard from folks this was intended, along with other changes like brightshade helm providing enough light to thward charlie off, or void armor not draining sanity+negates all sanity drains

This is intended.
Set Bonuses are active when using headgear and bodygear from the same set.

Part of the set bonus effects have been moved to headgear in this beta, this may have gone unnoticed by you.
