Friend has an engine crash ever since I use the Nightmare Saddle

Things were very fine until today when I added the Nightmare Saddle on my Beefalo, and since, as I ride, he will eventually get crashes. Didn't happen until this and doesn't happen while I'm not mounting it.

 

Maybe this is all a big coincidence, especially since this is a modded world (but there was no problem earlier and no new addition / update afaik), that's as far as we identified. Happens quite often like 2-3 times a day and I really have to use the Beefalo because that's pretty much the only shadow planar weapon I can use, Rifts keep getting Mimics so no tatters, we cannot repair the rest of our stuff without using green gems. :(

An update: yeah it's absolutely the saddle. He never get this crash unless I'm using the Beefalo with the Nightmare Saddle specifically. Played a whole session without the Beefalo once and it went smooth as butter for hours, and next day I tried again using the beef and he crashed within minutes.
