Food in a player's inventory will rot faster, but putting it on the ground and exposing it to acid rain will not?

As the title said.

It's counter-intuitive that food exposed to acid rain doesn't rot at a faster rate.

Steps to Reproduce

1.spawn a meat

2.Put it on the ground and it will rot after 4 days (not 6, because it rots 1.5 times faster when not in inventory)

3.Wait for acid rain

4.spawn another meat

3.put it on the ground and it will rot after 4 days, this means that acid rain didn't make it rot faster
