Cannot lift curse - stuck as Wonkey

In an old solo world, I got cursed and tried to remove it by giving bananas to the queen. While she took all my cursed trinkets, my character (Wendy) remained as wonkey and I couldn't find any way to lift the curse. I had roughly 10 trinkets, and gave over a dozen of bananas.

I'm not sure if it was a bug or intended, but the curse hit me on the mainland, a day or two after killing the monkeys and getting their accursed trinkets.

Steps to Reproduce

Kill monkeys, get cursed, give bananas to the queen. 

Go to bugs

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Once the next patch goes out you will need to give one more item to the Monkey Queen to get out of the cursed state.

Thanks Jesse!

For anyone interested, I managed to lift the curse by getting new cursed trinkets and then giving bananas to the queen, that worked. If anyone needs a solution before the hotfix.
