Rocketry Upgrade

Since breaking through the surface of the asteroid our Duplicants have developed a curiosity for the endless cosmos that exists outside their little space rock. That’s right, the Duplicants have begun developing their very own space program!

They’re now able to build massive rockets, train as astronauts, and journey on missions into space to bring back the resources they find.

A big thanks to everyone who participated in the testing branch. You’re helping to make the game better and we always appreciate that effort.  
 

What’s New in the Rocketry Upgrade?

    What's next?

    We feel the rocketry upgrade content has opened the door to further space industry related content. We’re looking forward to expanding that stage of the game further. We intend to expand the space industry content and systems in the next update.

    We’re also getting close to completing the pre-launch features we planned in last year’s roadmap. We feel it’s approaching time to shift our focus to polish, usability, and content backfill. There is plenty of work to be done in those categories.

    What are the system requirements?
    Specs are likely to change, but currently these are the requirements we have. It is highly recommended that you do not purchase if you aren't over this spec as we may have to raise the spec in the future.

    How often can we expect new updates while you're in EA?
    All new content is being released as part of our regular game Upgrades every six weeks. Check the update timer in the main menu to see how long to go until the next update!

    Is there OSX and Linux support for this game?
    Yes there is! The game can be installed through Steam on either of these platforms.

    What about other platforms(consoles/mobile)?
    There are no plans to support any other platforms at this time.

    I found a bug/have a suggestion. What should I do?
    Come let us know about it on the forums!

    Will there be multiplayer?
    There are currently no plans to add multiplayer.

    Do I need to start a new game to play with the update?
    Some features and content from this update will be available if you load a save game from before the update, but other things will not be. If you want to experience all of the new content then you need to start a new game.

    Changes:

    • Petroleum now turns into sour gas when boiled.
    • Fix deodorizer emitting oxygen and clay into the cell above itself, even if that cell is solid.
    • Fix dupes not working during Red Alert if it's during bedtime.
    • Heat energy renamed from Watts to DTU/s to acknowledge that the game does not conserve energy when converting from electrical to heat. Thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity units have been updated accordingly.
    • Liquid Chlorine no longer links to the solid codex entry.
    • Dupes no longer consider whether it is "night time" when choosing whether they should wake up.
    • Slickster no longer plays hovering sound when swimming.
    • Water and Polluted Water now have the same SHC so that the water purifier won't magically cause a loss of energy.
    • More animations allow Duplicants to play their speech animations.
    • Fixed a bug where Dreckos would not eat plants which were loaded in a wilted state.
    • Fix plants sometimes not reacting to temperature changes.
    • Tune fatal temperatures for various plants now that they are more reliably killed, ~50+ degrees of leeway between wilting and death.
    • Tune down the light absorption factors of the common gases.
    • Diseases that have actually been contracted cure more quickly with Strong immunity and more slowly with Compromised immunity.
    • Calorie burn is now customizable in the setting screen.
    • Conversation topics are no longer viral.
    • Fix selection collision for objects wider than 2 tiles that are flipped horizontally.
    • Dupes can now have conversations about their attributes and current role.
    • New sound effects for trussed baby creatures.
    • New sound effects for a bunch of duplicant reactions.
    • New glass ore art.
    • Fix auto-sweeper range visualization incorrectly passing through glass tiles.
    • Fix the tinkering buffs from engineering roles not stacking correctly.
    • Fix mechatronics construction buff not stacking.
    • Fix builder construction buff labels.
    • Fix suit expert athletics buff mislabeled.
    • New trussing anims.
    • Copy settings now copies auto wrangle and max critter settings.
    • Showering takes less time.

    • Dupes will no longer walk back and forth across an exosuit dock if the area on the safe side of the exosuit dock has no oxygen.
    • Fixed issue where camera would continue to pan when opening up a full screen menu while panning.
    • Added Jukebot songs that were made on Rhymes with Play.
    • Fix fish feeder and fish release being broken when building wires/pipes behind their "tile" cell.
    • Fish feeder and fish release may be entombed or flooded.
    • Conduit sensors should default to the off state rather than the on state.
    • The Empty Pipe tool now copies the priority onto the placed job.
    • Solar panels and the steam turbine now obstruct light.
    • Fixed an issue where mass could be created during the pressure simulation.
    • Dupes should play the correct footstep sound when jumping onto floors.
    • Drywall no longer complains about being entombed.
