Hi need help in making a character mod

Okay so i didn't know where to post this, if its in the wrong section please move it moderators.

So as in title i need help in making a character that is Compatible with DS and RoG, also want to mention i am using the Extended Sample Character 

Idea over the character was to mix Wickerbottom's book making and WX-78 gear upgrading 

so basically i want to make a WX-78 that can overload himself by using a book.

The question is how do i make that?

And can i use Klei's WX-78 Sprite and just modify it and post it on workshop, or will there be a problem with that?
im a complete noob in modding so please help me if you can.
