Debug question

Hey Guys & Gals,

I want to play using debug mode but it does not work for me, using steam.

I created a file called "debug_enable" and placed it into data folder as all other posts say.
The file does not have the ".txt" extension I am 100% sure.

I start game press backspace and nothing happens and then press ctrl F4 and nothing happens everything is still greyed out.
 

How do i get debug mode to work please?
I even started several games as i thought maybe it needed new game but did not help.

Never mind i screwed up I thought .txt had to be off the file and now it is supposed to be on it.

Got it working.
