Interesting that you tagged me in your post, but you didn't even attempt to address what I said.

Oops.  I completely missed your more recent post.  I apologize for confusing it with the other one.

That being said....

Pretty sure what's being attempted here is to demonstrate to you that not everyone enjoys the things you do,

If that was your intent, then you chose a rather poor way to go about it.

You didn't say that you like different things than I do, or even that you don't like the specific things that I do happen to like.  Instead, you claimed that my use of the term "surprise" was not a valid one, and that what I was "really asking about" was something completely ridiculous and "not implemented in the game".

Several other people have expressed positive arguments in favor of fine-tuned dupe selection in this thread, and I have no problem with that -- in fact, I think it's great.  It's something I wish there was more of.

I fully understand that not everyone gets a rush out of that kind of uncertainty, and I'm not interested in telling them that they "should".

What part of the "different people like different things" concept do I appear to have trouble understanding?

But at every turn, you have come back with arguments based entirely on the concept of "if it doesn't have randomness in it, I don't like it".

I really don't understand why this has become an argument in the first place.

I've been clarifying and re-stating my opinion because some of you guys keep aggressively distorting it -- which you've just done yet again:

Liking the way that random dupe selection currently affects gameplay in ONI is not the same as disliking anything that "doesn't have randomness in it".

It is also not the same as thinking that everyone should feel the same way about it that I do (another distorted point you keep trying to pass off as mine).
