exophobia
Hey there! First post, so I'm don't know in detail what's already here in the forums in terms of up to date roadmap and suggestions. Anyways, here it goes. When it comes to balancing game progression, what I'd personally very much like would be some variety in randomness when starting a map and balanced tech to counter it. So far every map I generate is very uniform around the starting area and even if it weren't, getting Exo suits for hazardous areas is too expensive at first anyways. So I make due with what I have and hope they don't get a massive flu outbreak or something. So for one it would be interesting to see more deadly biomes. Organic biomes could be highly infectious and deadly without proper med bay for instance. Map Generation could provide unique starting strategies, for instance surrounding your starting area with highly toxic areas with perhaps only a narrow path of very firm non toxic blocks. Tech and strategy to deal with this could then be to either research more advanced med bays to deal with infections, or better drills to circumnavigate those areas through paths of very firm blocks. One could think of similar scenarios for high/low temperatures, as those biomes are ingame right now as well. Best regards EDIT: I think there should generally be a stronger connection between your path of research and conquerable biomes. This would force me to go with what I can do rather than going headfirst wherever I want to go. Right now, neither lack of oxygen, nor diseases or high/low temperatures are a real threat to workers. So we can just send them wherever anytime and have a high chance of them surviving it. But making it unreasonably harder isn't advisable at the current either, as certain tech (like Exosuits) are very hard to get early on (and for me personally, even after a while due to needed resources).
