[Suggestion] Tanks

Recommended Posts

A proper way to store liquids and/or gases would be cool. Right now we just figure out a suitable place and just pump the water, polluted water, whatever there. A tank, in which you could store liquid would be very practical.

Also gas tanks would be nice. Right now, I just completely isolate a room and pump the gas, I want to store in that room, in there, "abusing" it like a storage compactor for gases. So this would be cool as well. (Obviously, I am trying to keep ceratin types of gases in different locations without directly delivering them to buildings)

There could be an "initial version" for either type, which slightly "leaks" it's content and an improved version, buildable with refined metal, which does not.

Yeah, I can easily see a small building, like a storage compactor, with an input and out pipe, that just holds the liquids or gases to be pumped out, being able to safely store a LOT more liquids/gases without using up more electricity to pump it around...

Though there is one issue I can immediately think of: what does it pump first when here are multiple gases/liquids in the tank? Though the more I think about it, they kind of tackled this problem with the pumps, themselves, for when you look at them in action as they pump multiple things, they do choose the things to pump, but that's limited to very small quantities that can be FULLY taken out of the pump, which is MUCH easier to work with

For example, let's say we have a tank filled with 40kg of water and 1 kg of polluted water, with the output pipe full of water. Now lets say there's something slowly extracting the water from the pipe, let's say a valve set to 100g/s, how would the tank handle the output pipe? Would it give the pipe the water its losing as it's being taken (10kg -> 9.9kg -> 10kg) or would it wait for it to lose all of its contents before filling it with one of the two liquids? And how would it chose what liquid to give?
