sundial
I was experimenting with thermo regulators and thermo aquatuners today. both seem to disperse heat without bound; they will keep getting hotter with no limit of course, there's overheat damage, but even then they still work for quite a while, long enough to reach really high temperatures. I set up a copper aquatuner encased in abyssalite tiles, and it melted before getting below 75% health. The melting temperature for wolframite is higher than the evaporation temperature for copper; is it possible to run a wolframite aquatuner long enough for it to melt, and then have it turn copper into a gas? FIXBUGFIXBUGFIX
Of course you can. Put the wolframite aquatuner in hydrogen, build a copper airlock next to it and open the airlock. Then encircle them by abyssalite tiles. (Opening the airlock can help it raises temperature much faster, I think it's a bug.) sundial
I actually tried that setup, there was a slight problem: the wire connected to the aquatuner melted. It did end up melting the airlock though! then some water somehow got in and cooled the aquatuner down and turned the liquid copper into solid copper i think gaseous copper is definitely possible though! I was using pipes made of abyssalite for the aquatuner, and that might not have been good enough; the melting temperature of an abyssalite pipe is apparently the same as the melting temperature of a wolframite aquatuner Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/85407-theory-regarding-heat/#findComment-983845 Share on other sites
