The Plum Gate
Have a sub overlay ( or overlays ) in the thermal overlay - normal mode as seen here, then a liquid and gas pipes overlay, preferably with a brackish/dark background (similar to electrical, plumbing and ventilation overlays) showing, specifically, the thermals of contents in these pipes either as pipe sections ( think germs overlay effects ) or as colored blobs, as seen above*. The same effect could be integrated into existing normal thermal overlay by colorizing the bulges where liquids and gasses are residing. *I think this was the intention and perhaps what I'm seeing is a non-feature/bug, or an as yet to be figured out issue. In any case, that pipe is abyssalite, the bulge is temperate for some reason... and clearly the water is hot given the description. Integrating this, as is, into the existing thermal schema will present players with issues regarding tile and structure occlusions. having a separate sublayer checkbox system presents more clarity on the on what's what.
