Being a veteran of dwarf fortress and the like, there's a few suggestions I have: The ability to produce renewables (currently just food) items within a min/max range. It's annoying to have to continuously enable/disable buildings. Forbid certain items from being consumed (they will eat lower quality food even though higher quality food is available because reasons) Priority level per job type per person (instead of a simple checkbox) The ability to select multiple containers of the same type to change what they can store The ability do deny movement to certain areas (ie an exposed body of water that isn't used as a water resource for plants and such Add a "currently thinking/doing" section to the tooltip for the player More person-to-person interaction Items like beds/lamps/etc crafted from components instead of raw just materials, and said objects appearance and quality based on the person who produced it (like artwork). Let air flow through ladders easier. Currently you have to open a tile on either side, and ladders can be used to make rooms. I get that this is an alpha and everything's great so far!
