Dkong
I've noticed after playing a few games that my dups just never die, no matter how badly my base goes. They can seem to live almost endlessly even in extreme conditions. No mineshaft is too toxic to go down, the tiniest shred of oxygen is enough to catch their breath, they can complete extensive construction projects all while holding their breath for seemingly hours, and extreme levels of stress can be handled with a vomit or smashed machine. The game just lacks dangers. I've struggled to even intentionally kill dups. One game I stopped all oxygen production and co2 scrubbing, and inverted my filters and saturated my living space with co2, ran it on fast forward for at least 5 cycles and not one person died. There was a pocket of oxygen off to the side of my base, and all the dups had to do was run over to it a couple times a day to catch their breath. Then they could go about their normal business of cooking, eating, vomiting, and repairing machines in a completely unbreathable base at 100% stress. The lose state of the game just seems to be loss of productivity. Things get so unproductive that the base just isn't worth playing anymore, so you quit. Of course everyone will eventually die, but it seems like you'd have to burn through upwards of 50+ cycles on fast forward just for that to happen. I'd like to see some actual danger management in the game. Where you can actually make mistakes that get dups killed that don't involve running out of resources for 50+ cycles. If I have a big construction project, and suddenly it opens up into a room that fills it with toxic gas, or massive amounts of co2, I'd like to see some actual deaths because I removed the wrong block, or got too cocky, or something like that. Right now, dups are virtually immortal. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/77604-dups-are-way-too-tough/ Share on other sites
