ZalrokChaos
I think deposits of sodium should be added to the game, so then a material like salt can be used to decontaminate water and use to produce food. Also maybe add lead and Uranium to create fission power and maybe fusion from Hydrogen. mr_anderson
yea im all about that. maybe uranium could be the end game stuff. More elements would definitely make the game more fun. Crimeo
Salt is far more likely to exist as just salt in a deposit, rather than made by reacting sodium metal and chlorine gas (though that works). Sodium metal just sitting around pure in a cave is extremely unlikely. Also salt is a pretty terrible choice for decontaminating water, anyway. Since to get it out of the water you need to distill it (which would have purified it and decontaminated it anyway...) or osmosis (similarly very high energy requirements that could have just been used for purification to begin with). If/when food rots meaningfully though, salt works well against that, alternative to refrigerator. And would be relevant to advanced chemical processing depending what they add. Quote Sodium also catches on fire in contact with water I believe Yes it forms sodium hydroxide, i.e. lye / drain cleaner. Which is used to make soap and as a precursor to many other things (also a flux for various smelting and ceramics processes) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/75865-adding-sodium-and-other-elements-to-the-game/#findComment-881817 Share on other sites
