I was like "dafuq". I wasn't playing with nobody at the time. After a few more minutes it showed this. Could that be it? I haven't tried to join a private server before, so I don't know if it's possible to get as far as the lobby before being booted. Even when they are in the lobby, they're names should be shown in the Player menu with a question mark character next to their name.
