[Help] Trying to make an asymmetrical character

Hi, I'm trying to make a custom character, that has a pretty asymmetrical design, arms and legs are asymmetrical, as well as the head. While looking around I stumbled on this post explaining how to make it work for the head, but I'm still not sure about the arms and legs. People say the most practical way is to make all the animations from scratch, which I have no trouble trying, but I can't find a detailed list of all necessary animations anywhere.
