which of the 3 mode you think has more benefits and why

Recommended Posts

I reroll with my team of 3 (we can also become 4 depends)

And i am looking for a way to have a good game.

We used to play survival first. It was nice and challenging but my friends arent the best players, so the constant sanity drop and having max 50 hp players, was really hard. Also when i was the only survivor with giant on my back, i wouldnt ressurect the team for days. Thats not fun for them.

Then we saw the endless. Lots better, still, i had to search for red gems to make amulets to avoid the death penatlies all the time.

Now i am thinking of wilderness. The awesome part is you can change character anytime you want, without putting commands and so on. Also you dont lose hp. To balance it out, you dont have portal (well, its nice to have a spot of reference when the player respawns) and the map fading off, making you to re-explore. In my opinion wilderness is just ok for what i want. Neither it lets you die with "who cares attitude" nor it overly punishes it.

But i saw it has very few servers. Do people hate it for some reason? WHat server mode you play and why

I run a lot of educational servers when beginners are welcome and taught rather than punished for making wet goop and the-like, so for this, endless is the best. Reviving at the portal makes telltale hearts an option rather your first solution as well. I play on wilderness with two buddies from time to time, it is good when you have a tightly-knit team to direct you straight to the base (but you should disable changing variations and increase the world regrowth rate and likely some sort of a mod where you are, either Global Player Indicators or Coordinate, the second being subtler). I learnt a lot there regarding character perks. It is not too cooperative though as you have to survive AND to find each other. Survival is rolled by default, so a lot of survival servers stem from "I Just Hit the Generate World Button Without Checking Any Options" rather than some goal in mind. Ghost sanity drain is just an inconvenience if you ask me. It was supposed to encourage reviving teammates with the additional penalty of the world resetting after everyone is dead, but I cannot in all honesty say whether it worked or not.

If your friends would like to learn first, roll an endless world with an accelerated regrowth rate. You can even remove maximum health penalties directly through the LUA or with a mod if you prefer. Wilderness is mostly to test which character fits your playstyle best (it is also the closest to the singleplayer as you can never meet at all), survival is a jack of all trades and endless supports long-term gameplay, the options of fighting giants or spelunking included.
