Tattered Posted April 12, 2016 Share Posted April 12, 2016 When I try to host a server with Caves, those who join get a "the server is not responding" error even though I am able to play. However, when I remove the caves, my friends are able to join and play normally.I am also able to join other servers with caves. I've done a bunch of research on how to fix this issue but literally nothing I've tried is working. This is not helped by the fact that all the tutorials are 5 months old and the " TheNet:GenerateServerToken() " command that they all use is literally broken. I've tried reinstalling, allowing don't starve in my firewall, removing my firewall, port forwarding, running as admin, adding a server token text file, adding a cluster token text file, attempting to create a dedicated server from the dedicated server tool on steam, attempting to create a dedicated server from scratch, and then my friend comes over on my wifi on their laptop and they're able to host a server with caves with 0 issues. TwitchRouniee Posted April 12, 2016 Share Posted April 12, 2016 Have you ever been able to create a server with Caves @tattered? Caves require a lot more bandwith and power from your PC. If you don't have the power or bandwith it's insanely hard for your computer to run a stable server. I've never had an issue with caves/servers myself. I use 32 gb of DDR3 ram i7 4770k 15mb up 110mb down0 MODS - If you are using mods try uninstalling all of them.
