Bird Cage Drops Feathers

I totally support this. Its a pain in the ass to farm Snowbirds with boomerang. Not to mention insane boring and game stopping.

It would make a lot of sense that you should feed the bird in the birdcage,otherwise it dies.Your idea is a small addition to the game,yet it could prove useful for people not actively hunting birds that still want feathers.Though I asume the bird would die very quickly if harvested during winter/featherless

Yes, please. Not only would it matter what bird you put in, but recently I installed a mod that let you do this, and suddenly I actually CARED about getting fire and sleep darts!The reeds cost is still a little much though, I'd much prefer if you crafted the blowgun seperatly.

I have also installed the mod which gives you feather if you feed your bird with meat. It is truly amazing. I think they should implement that. Tho I removed the part where getting feather was random so now the modified mod always gives one feather and one egg if you give the bird a meat.I think this is a must have in the game.
