[SOLVED] Server Visible But Unreachable

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I've rectified my previous issues and am able to run the server with the mods I want - however, my friends cannot connect to it. It is visible on the server list, but they cannot connect to it.

Is this a port forwarding issue, and how do I fix it? (I've already forwarded 10999 with UDP but no luck).

Hey @Chizzleface, have you tried giving permissions to DST through your Firewall, that may be the cause as to why your friends can't connect to you. Could be multiple other reasons, but try the Method: Troubleshoot and configure your firewalls found here. Secondly can you see your own server through jacklul? Report back if the firewall thing doesn't work and attach your log.txt file found under your Master Server's folder. Cheers.

It seems it is definitely a port forwarding issue looking at the log - there's a line that says could not verify if port 10999 is open. I've set up port triggering for that port. I'm lost as to what to do now because it was working perfectly well with the settings I had before Christmas, but since the caves update everything seems to have gone **** up.

EDIT: Like I said, the server is visible (including in Jacklul), but nobody can connect to it.

@Chizzleface, have you made sure your Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server Tool is updated? It could due to incompatible builds. On my side, the current content BuildID for Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server is 924432.

Right click Don't Starve Together Dedicated Server in your Tools and check under Local Files Tab. Verify integrity of Tool Cache just in case something's faulty.

I also get the could not verify if port 10999 is open but server still starts up fine and I've able to get other players to join me.
