DST Problem including an error/warning

Around the holidays, my friend got me DST as a gift on Steam. I launched the game after it downloaded completely. After I opened the game and got past the loading screen, a warning came up that mentioned something about my Klei Save file, with options to go to the forum or to just exit the game entirely. I tried to uninstall and re-install this game, but to my demise, it did not work.

 

Here's what it says:

[string "scripts/mainfunctions.lua"]:717: Unable to write to config directory. Please make sure you have permissions for your Klei save folder. LUA ERROR stack traceback: =[C]: -1 in (global) assert ( C ) <-1--1> scripts/mainfunctions.lua:717 in () 7 (Lua) <706-718>

 

Some of this may be wrong, since the quality of the writing was poor. (Most likely the -'s and possibly the 7's. Pretty sure they're 7.)

 

Can someone help me through this? This is truly frustrating..
