Boat Companions [SUGGESTION] [SHIPWRECKED]

        For a long time, I've been annoyed by the fact that enemy Floaty Boaty Knights (which I like to call "Clockwork Boats") are much weaker than the player, so I think they need 1) An improved AI and 2) Big waves where their shot lands (like a normal boat cannon). Also, to compensate, if you find yourself in the "OMG I have so many gears and they're so useless I've got like 50 stacks" situation, you should be able to craft companions such as:

 

        1. Transport Boats. These should be: 15 gears, 10 Rope, 10 Boards. They should carry 10 items.

        2. Warboats. These should be: 20 Gears, 15 Rope, 15 Boards, 2 Boat Cannons. They should seek out enemy boats around the player, or simply attack the player's target. Their cannons should be like the normal (no-waves) clockwork boats.

        3. Subs. These should be: 20 Gears, 5 Cut Stone, 15 Boards, 2 Gold Nuggets, 1 Bee Mine. They should release magnetic mines under the enemy boats.

        4. Boat upgrades. You should be able to upgrade your boat with gears, probably buffing its health and speed. Up to 5 upgrades per boat. Only works for advanced boats (Armored Boats, Cargo Boats).

We'd also need a boat or a boat equipment able to carry followers around with us.

Also, advanced repair kits crafted with gears and other things?

I like your ideas a lot. Maybe make these higher tier boats require a rare resource and shadow manipulator to make them even harder to obtain. But yes we should definitely have a purpose for all these gears.
