Can we please make the new characters have distinctive attributes?

In my opinion, Walani should not take sanity drain from being wet. She's a surfer, she'd be so used to that stuff...

 

That seems like way too big of a perk, since it cuts out the main menace of the Wetness mechanic; slippery tools only become a real problem when you have to chop down a tree or something at very high Wetness, the way wetness reduces your temperature will only be a problem when Shipwrecked is finished and Walani can experience the chill of RoG spring, and while it does make food spoil faster this doesn't have a noticeable effect all that often unless your food has a very short shelf life already. It'd be like having a character in the main game who just doesn't get cold. (Wilson's beard gives him a very high cold resistance at max length, but if you leave him out in winter long enough he can still freeze.)

 

However! Taking less sanity drain (50% of normal? 75%?) from soaked equipment sounds good to me. That would be pretty helpful in spring, or in the one Adventure Mode world where it rains almost all the time.

 

Then she'd have something that's still decently helpful outside of Shipwrecked, too. The surfboard is pretty good in Shipwrecked, like Willow's lighter or Lucy the Axe, but a) both Willow and Woodie have additional major perks as well as their special items, and b) a lighter and an axe are good anywhere but a surfboard isn't that helpful when there's no beach.

So this is probably a really dumb idea, but I'm going to put it out here anyway:

 

What if, in RoG, Walani's surfboard turned into/could be replaced by a skateboard that gives a speed boost? The surfing animation is already pretty much spot on. Not entirely sure if this would be annoying to implement on the code side though.
