Unable to join my own server

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I´m 3 days trying to open a dedicated caves server to play with my girlfriend but I´m unable to join my own server. I think it´s a bit different from all problems I found in this forum, so I coudnt find a solution.

I did everything right from all guides that I found. I open my server (main and slave), everything goes right, I can find my server in browser, both online and LAN, but I cant join it.

If I try to join on internet browser, it keep connecting for a while and after I get a error saying to "yell louder".

If I try to join on Lan browser, it keep saying CONNECTING and nothing happens.

If I try to join using c_connect command, it goes to the loading screen, but nothing happens, and I have to close window.

I can see that everything is OK in my dedicated server in CMD, user connection accepted, steam authenticate successfully......

Already tried to:

- change ports

- portforwarding

- using hamachi

- reinstalling server

- reinstalling game

What should I do? I´m tired, really...

Just to let you guys know, I managed to "fix" it deleting in both servers steam ports configuration.

So, I deleted those lines:

server

steam_authentication_port = 12345
steam_master_server_port = 12346

cave

steam_authentication_port = 12348
steam_master_server_port = 12349

Now I´m able to join server, but I still didnt test it properly to see if everything is working fine. In my opinion its proved to be a bug in dedicated server that Klei need to investigate.

Thank you.

same problem with me.  I am not able to solve this problem.

If its the exactly same problem, just do what I said and its gonna work. I already tested here and everything is ok.

If your friends are unable to join after deleting those likes, thats because you need to port forwarding in your router.
