Mod needed or file modification?

Hello there, I am playing DS since some time and now I want to try mods, I have tryied infinite tools and clothes, but do I absolutely need to use them or can I just modify files instead? In that case, wich ones? (for infinite tools/clothes of course).

You could modify your files directly, but it isn't recommended. You could accidentally stuff your game files and need to reinstall Also if the game is updated, you'll lost all your edits. If there's a mod which already does what you want, just use it.
