Perfect ping but keep losing connection and huge delay.

So I played Don't Starve Together before today and it worked perfectly. Lag was appropriate to ping usually and I play a private server hosted by my friend. I barely had any lag at all. Today when we decided to play I started having serious connection issues. My ping read 40~60 and it said she was "Good Host" but I kept losing connection about every 10 seconds and it would delay me even farther. I've tried restarting my game multiple times and resetting my connection. We have also tried restarting the server and had no luck. I disabled my mods and closed everything except skype, steam and DST to try and reduce CPU usage and lag. My other friend who also plays on that server has about 120~150 ping and he says his runs fine. Though I have a low spec laptop and it's really bad so that may be the issue but it hasn't been a problem before today.
