CrazyWelshy
I'm rather new to this game, but I'm not sure my luck is so bad that this world generation is the worst. It was basically what I assume is the 'starting' area with green grass, rabbits, trees, "The Shire" I nickname it. So I thank that and explore it. I keep exploring it. It is a near isolated piece of land with only one exit, a land bridge to a large swamp zone... Damnit all.I died in this world to a tentacle while trying to get out of the swamp to new lands, that failed. I ragequitted and lost that map exploration but here is a quick re-do of the map. Please note, that the left is the start, its practically a perfect circle of a starting zone, connected by one land bridge to a near total spamp zone with a rather small dark grass zone in the middle. From what I could scout, that entire swamp zone had no exits, and was a total swamp zone around a small 'dark green' land area. Very little resources, though thankfully a few ponds. Two land biomes with one land connection for a total world? I can't be that unlucky.New to the game, but I will break it in. Its just so, canny. So, what's you're unluckiest world generation? qwerm
dunno, but if you want advice on crossing swamps fairly reliably, is to follow the stone path; it SHOULD go all the way through unless your swamp isle is tangental/merged with another biome island.from there, I recommend you start wearing log suits through the swamp until you get more comfortable with dodging tentacles on the fly, because they DO do an awful lot of damage.as for worlds, I've only ever bothered with my very first world so far, though it's a funny story regarding the search for my pig king.So my buddy tells me, "yeah each world has a pig king, why don't you go look for him?"and here I am, with 3 full pockets of cooked seeds, berries and morsels, and I go across all 9 maps looking for the lazy bastard. Turns out, he was on island 2. The 2/3 of it I didn't bother to check because my bridges form a V from this island, and I found the bridge before mapping island 2 at all.so yeah, don't you just love it when stuff is hiding right under your nose, and you don't realise it's there before you trip over it and fall down several flights of stairs?which reminds me of lego... CrazyWelshy
If memory serves, all the stone paths either lead to a pond, or a dark grass area inside the swamp. I did create a log suit, but felt it more necessary to gather maximum resources to build a home base somewhere, I did not anticipate I'd be stuck in The Shire and Swamp biomes completely. qwerm
keep following the stone path, it should go THROUGH the middles forest area of the swamp and into the next island. If the path poots out completely, you're gonna wanna try walking the very edge of the map. Again, be VERY careful of tentacles and they can sometimes spring an attack on you without much warning. In any case, best of luck on your getting to the other side, many resources await you across that treacherous land.from the perspective of that map, seems there's a bit of pathway leading northwest of your position in that screenshot, have you checked that path thoroughly? CrazyWelshy
Unfortunately in my initial run, I practically circumvented the entirety of the land I had access to, I had no way out of those two biomes. I'd like to think its just a combination of bad luck and a bug in the default world generation.Typically I get whipped by tentacles to death a few feet from grassland too...I will keep on hunting, if none found, there is always the New World button.
