Hello everyone! This is my first mod for Don't Starve and its expansion. Although not new to coding, I'm not that familiar to DS so this character is a little basic. However, she starts with a custom item!

 

So this character, Nox, is a D&D Pathfinder character of mine that I decided to put into DS. She is a Xel, an anthro-bird custom race I created because there aren't enough birds in Pathfinder. Also, there aren't enough birds in DS either!

About Nox:

Nox is a Xel who, from birth, suffers from mental problems. Not only does she hallucinate from time to time, she has a poor memory, causing her to have to relearn certain things after a while. However, she is also quite proficient in magic of the spatial variety and can easily channel this energy through whatever medium she finds. Her favorite medium is a crooked stick that she named "Mr. Magic", and when she aggressively waves it at a target, the targets inside get a nice burst of energy, causing internal damage.

 

(Yes, there are obvious retcons to make up for my lack of coding ability)

 

Nox's Stats:

 

Health: 150

    - Nox is pretty well-rounded when it comes to health

Hunger: 125

    - Average height for a Xel is 4 feet, so their stomachs aren't that big.

Sanity: 100

    - Mental problems cause hallucinations without the need for drugs!

 

Mr. Magic's Stats:

 

Durability: Infinite

    - (Under consideration for change, but the recipe will probably be a stick or something)

Range: 2

    - Let's be honest, any old stick isn't the greatest medium, no matter the ability of the user.

Damage: 15

    - Stronger than the average axe!

 

Mod Notes:

This character/item mod is still under development. It runs fine and everything, but Stat values for both Nox and Mr. Magic will need some testing and Nox's big portrait is looking a little sad.

 

This mod was made using Dleowolf's Extended Sample Character Template. The only reason I made this mod was because this template made making my mod easy and enjoyable to do.

If I likey, I'll update this mod with your artwork and credit you above the change-log! (The character sprite is the more accurate representation of Nox, not the portrait)

 

Future Improvements:

- Updated big portrait

- Character sprites edited to better match the DS art-style

- Possible balancing fixes

- More dynamic character:

    - Less hunger depletion

    - Slight resistance to heat and cold (magic!)
