Admin permission to spawn

One of the most stressful times for any server is the moment when a new player joins. Are they a troll? Are they a noob? Are they going to burn down everything to survive winter?

 

I've heard that there's a join lobby in the works. Ostensibly, this feature will allow players to chat with the rest of the server before joining.

 

This is where my idea comes in: Give server hosts the option of requiring that an admin approve new players before they're allowed to spawn. This would give admins an opportunity to explain the rules to new players, receive confirmation that the player understands those rules, and get some very basic ideas about his or her personality, before unleashing them on the world.

 

It would also have the subsidiary benefit of disallowing new players on dedicated servers while an admin isn't online (I believe that was previously suggested as a feature in its own right).
