Controller for longer range

Hello, it is a simple suggestion that controller attacks could be a little smarter. For example, using fire rod is kinda stupid in short range, i have been trying to kill spider nest with it, but it works only in close range or even on their spider silk ground also i am not sure how to use it boomerang properly, can someone explain? with keyboard i use space button to catch it, but how to use it in controller?

And several bugs: 1. can't place crafted stone pit. 2. Sometimes occurs a bug when you can't take it from chest several items (coal was bugged), so at first i had to drop it from chest and take it.
