Grindcore
This is the first time i am posting in this forum; I just purchased the DST beta and it appears that i am able to join or host a server if i have no mods enabled, but i cannot join or host a server with mods enabled. This is strange to me for a number of reasons, Those reasons being; My friend is running the exact same mods on a mid range laptop but is able to both join and host servers. I on the other hand have a high end gaming desktop but cannot do the same. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I cannot seem to find any information pertaining to this specific issue. Pyrobolser
If both you and the host have a mod enabled, but have a newer version than the host, it will crash. If some mods are for friends only, and you are not friend with the host, it will crash. If the host have some characters mods, and one is instable, you will crash only if you select this specific character. Note that sometimes it may takes a lot of time to load all the mods, and you will have a black screen freezing for 2 or 3 minutes, that's normal ! As soon as you see the "loading..." in the bottom left corner, it means the mods are downloaded and ready, and the game is now launching.Sorry I can't help you more =/ Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/50862-crashing-with-mods-on-server-join/#findComment-612328 Share on other sites
rezecib
@Grindcore, Definitely sounds like a bug. I'd make a bug report and explain in more detail what happens when you try to host or join, and provide the contents of your log file (look in the spoiler on the bug report page) after one or both failed attempts. It's a little nicer to put the log contents in a spoiler tag rather than attaching it, which you can do like this: (spoiler)copy-paste it here(/spoiler) but using [] instead of ().
