WombatScallywag
I played Don't Starve since its beginnings, and it quickly became my favorite game. I don't say that lightly: I've played games all my life but I've never enjoyed a game as much as this. The problem is that the only computer(s) I have acess to in my home are...well, old farts with crumby graphics cards and poor processing power. (I love my HP mini to bits but its completely incapable of running WebGL let alone Don't Starve). I was also recently gifted Reign of Giants and Don't Starve Together but am literally incapable of playing them. It's a bit frustrating, really, and its one of the many reasons that I want to buy a better laptop sometime this year. Now, my boyfriend is a fairly good programer with knowledge of computers and technology and he recomended the Dell Chromebook 11 as a better option to my netbook, for price, size, and processing power, and its what I'm leaning to but the real question is can it run Don't Starve? Supposing it has Ubuntu installed, not Chrome OS. I tried searching this question beforehand but I couldn't find anything that said it could or couldn't, be it because of Chrome OS's inability to do anything outside of Google Apps and webbrowsing and I couldn't pinpoint if the graphics card is good enough to run it. From what I hear its a powerful little thing, but keep in mind I know no world outside of my netbook so what I consider ridiculously fast is very different from what most computer wizards think. I think in the end I just don't want to spend over $300 on a better laptop if it can't even run my favorite game, especially when I already own it. Thank you in advance!
