Issue Title: Excessive lag

Issue Description: I host a server for for me and friends, my specs are as follows:

CPU: i7 5820k

GPU: GTX 780

RAM: 16GB

Game is installed on a SSD.

Having such a high end computer, I expected absolutely no lag from this game, and in single-player that is.... at least usually true. However, when hosting a server, around day 20 or so and beyond, my FPS started regularly dropping to around 24, and it felt that even when my FPS was stable, the game wasn't smooth and was microstuttering (though that could just be me, FPS counter wasn't catching anything).

Because I was hosting, the other players would experience pretty bad rubber banding whenever my FPS started to chug. Honestly I don't know what to assume on why the game is lagging, none of my CPU cores are even close to maxing out, GPU usage is under 30% at all times, no more then 7GBs of ram was being used system wide, and nothing else was writing to my SSD at the time.

Steps to Reproduce: Obtain a system with similar specs (giving the fact this isn't a widely known problem already, I can only assume it has to do with my computers specifications, which will probably be the main reason this bug never gets tracked down).

Play the game for 15-20 days

During night and dawn, experience terrible game breaking lag.

That's pretty much what we did (multiple saves now, we have mods installed HOWEVER, this happened before as well as after the mod installation).
