A "Map" Item

So I am a fan of DST, I have about 100 hours into regular Don't starve +  RoG, so when DST came out I started playing it, and when I couldn't play it I watched streams/youtube videos. Something that I feel a lot of people want is a map item, so this is just my idea of that item. It would be made with 4 papyrus and 6 charcoal, you would only need a regular science machine to make it and it would have infinite durability. The way it would work is you have to hold it in your hands, and when you hole map progress is put on the map, and when you give another player the item it updates their map with all of the new stuff. Just an idea I thought I would throw around
