Any good guide or tutorial on how to make a character

 I've been trying for some time to figure out how to make a mod for a character I made, But I've found many obsolete tutorials on internet and I'm not sure if maybe is now an easier way to do this with the "Don't Starve Mod Tools" you can download from steam. 

 Any clue where I can find a clear guide, people?
