Change Save Location to Thumb Drive

Is there a way, while playing with the Steam Save feature turned off to override / mod the default save location from the documents folder to a Thumb drive?

 

This way if I don't have internet connection at the time and want to switch from my desktop to my laptop, for example, I can simply remove the thumb drive and put it in the laptop and play from there.

I should also add, my current solution is a .bat file that simply copies the save folder once ran to the thumb drive and a restore .bat that transfers the save folder from the thumb drive back to the default location... but I would like to remove this extra step.
